Rainer Lehmann is a distinguished financial executive with over two decades of leadership experience in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors. He served as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Executive Board of Sartorius AG from March 2017 to October 2023, where he played a pivotal role in transforming the German biotech giant into a leading international partner of life science research and the biopharmaceutical industry. During his tenure at Sartorius, Lehmann was responsible for Finance & Controlling, IT, Business Process and Data Management, Corporate Purchasing, E-Business Platforms, and Post-Merger Integration, overseeing operations for a DAX40 company with revenues of €4.2 billion and nearly 16,000 employees. His leadership was instrumental in elevating Sartorius' finance organization and supporting strategic portfolio expansions, capacity investments, and significant IT and digital competency enhancements.
