Biography
Michael Sen serves as Chairman of the Management Board (CEO) of Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA since October 2022, leading one of Europe's largest healthcare companies with over €40 billion in annual revenue and 300,000+ employees worldwide. Born in 1968 in Korschenbroich, Germany, Sen brings over 25 years of executive experience across major German corporations including Siemens and E.ON. His leadership philosophy centers on 'health equity' with fair access to medical care for all, positioning patient well-being at the center of Fresenius' strategic vision. Sen's career began with an apprenticeship at Siemens in Berlin before studying business administration at Technical University of Berlin. He progressed through various roles at Siemens from 1996-2015, including CFO of Siemens Healthcare Sector, before serving as CFO of E.ON SE (2015-2017). Returning to Siemens as Management Board member (2017-2020), he successfully took Siemens Healthineers public and oversaw both healthcare and energy business units. Sen joined Fresenius in April 2021 as CEO of Fresenius Kabi, where he developed 'Vision 2026' strategy before ascending to CEO of the parent company. His strategic leadership focuses on digital transformation, operational excellence, and expanding Fresenius' global footprint in critical care, dialysis, and pharmaceutical services. As Chairman of Fresenius Medical Care's Supervisory Board, Sen oversees the world's leading dialysis provider, demonstrating his comprehensive understanding of the healthcare ecosystem.
