Markus Krebber

Dr. Markus Krebber serves as Chief Executive Officer of RWE AG, one of Europe's leading energy corporations, where he has spearheaded the company's ambitious transformation from a traditional coal-based utility into a global renewable energy powerhouse. Born in 1973, Krebber joined RWE in 2012 and has been instrumental in executing the company's 'Growing Green' strategy, which envisions €55 billion in green technology investments by 2030. Under his leadership since becoming CEO in May 2021, RWE has expanded its renewable energy capacity to 36.2 GW with an additional 11.2 GW under construction, positioning the company to nearly double its green portfolio to over 65 GW by 2030. Krebber's strategic vision has driven major acquisitions, including the 2022 purchase of Con Edison's Clean Energy Business, making RWE the second-largest solar operator in the United States.
