Manfred Döss

Dr. Manfred Döss is a distinguished legal executive serving as Member of the Executive Board for Legal Affairs and Compliance at Porsche Automobil Holding SE and Member of the Board of Management for Integrity and Legal Affairs at Volkswagen AG. Born in 1958 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, Dr. Döss brings over three decades of expertise in corporate law, compliance, and governance across major German corporations. He earned his doctorate in law from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz in 1990. His career began at Metallgesellschaft AG (now GEA AG), where he served as head of the legal department from 1996 to 2004. He then joined RWE AG as Head of Corporate Legal and Corporate Affairs from 2005 to 2013, gaining valuable experience in the energy sector and international operations, including serving as non-executive director during the IPO of American Water Works Co. Inc. Since joining Porsche SE in 2013, Dr. Döss has been instrumental in defending the company in complex legal proceedings, achieving significant victories in German courts and successfully defending against damage claims in the USA. Under his leadership, Porsche SE has demonstrated exceptional legal resilience and compliance excellence. His appointment to Volkswagen Group's Board of Management in 2022, specifically responsible for integrity and legal affairs, came after the company established its integrity department following the diesel scandal, highlighting his critical role in corporate governance and compliance transformation.
