Dr. Joachim Wenning serves as Chairman of the Board of Management at Munich Re, the world's leading reinsurer, a position he has held since April 2017. Under his exceptional leadership, Munich Re has achieved unprecedented financial performance, with the company's share price essentially doubling during his tenure and net profits consistently exceeding targets four years in a row. Born in Jerusalem in 1965, Dr. Wenning has dedicated over three decades to Munich Re, joining the company in 1991 as a treaty specialist and steadily advancing through various leadership roles. His strategic vision has positioned Munich Re at the forefront of the global reinsurance industry, with the company maintaining its number one ranking among global reinsurance groups since 2010. Dr. Wenning's comprehensive understanding of both life and property-casualty reinsurance, combined with his expertise in strategic development and international markets, has enabled him to navigate complex global challenges while delivering exceptional shareholder value.
